Reasons to Donate your Vehicle

Four Reasons to Donate Your Vehicle to Goodwill:

1. Tax Savings
Your donation is tax-deductible. If you are able to itemize your deductions on your income taxes,
you will be able to deduct the vehicle’s value as a charitable donation (See Tax Advantage for more information).

2. Convenience
Unlike re-selling, you don’t have to worry about dealing with used car dealers— in fact, you don’t even need to come to our lot.  Goodwill can arrange for a free pickup of your vehicle within 24 hours (Monday thru Friday).
We will also handle the title transfer paperwork.

3. Safety.
Re-selling your car on your own can be inconvenient—and unsafe.
When you donate to Goodwill, you don’t have to worry about strangers coming to your home to see the car.
Instead, you can either drop the car off at our lot (3333 Fowler Street in Fort Myers), or have us pick up the car at your home, work, or another location of your choosing (in Lee, Collier or Charlotte counties).

4.
Feel Good.
After Goodwill pays a flat fee for towing, we receive 100 percent of the resale of every donated vehicle.
This money is used to fund our employment, job training and placement programs we provide to people with disabilities and disadvantages. Last year, Goodwill helped more than 8,100 people in Southwest Florida receive vocational and social services.
