Southwest Florida GWI Housing, Inc. Provides Barrier-Free Housing
for Persons
with Physical
Disabilities providing the Opportunity for Affordable, Convenient,
Independent Living to Enhance
the Overall Quality of Life.
Goodwill’s apartments are specifically designed for people with disabilities.
The one and two bedroom apartments are constructed with conveniences
like lowered sinks,
counter tops, mirrors, accessible appliances, and easy
roll-in showers. Each complex has a
community room, laundry facility
and picnic area.
The Hatton B. Rogers Retirement Community is a 54-unit single room
apartment complex for
low-income seniors 62 years or older.
Residents do not have to have a physical disability,
but must be able
to live independently.
All of our apartment complexes are built in areas with easy access to
public transportation,
shopping centers, banks, and schools.
Currently Goodwill has apartments complexes located
in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh and
Punta Gorda.

The admission criteria established by
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA GWI HOUSING
INC. for HUD
section 811 apartments are that the Head of household
applicant must:
- Be physically disabled
- Be 18 years of age of older
- Not be a danger to self or others
- Not require 24 hour secure environment or
monitoring
- Be able to or have means to perform activities
of daily living*
Be willing to participate in the program and cooperate with
staff
- Have not had a felony
The criteria for Hatton B. Rogers HUD section
202 apartments are
that the head of household applicant must:
- Be 62 years of age or older
- Not be a danger to self or others
- Not require 24 hour secure environment or
monitoring
- Be able to or have means to perform activities
of daily living*
- Be willing to participate in the program
and cooperate with staff

***Although the ability to live independently
is a prerequisite for
admission to this complex, individuals daily
care by
a live in attendant
would be required to make all arrangements,
including financial for
their care taker or attendant.
***Income limits apply: 1 person $19,600.00
per year (2006). We do a
credit and criminal check
on all applicants.
