Lack of reliable transportation can be a barrier to employment for many people.
Four Wheels for Work is a program that makes it possible for low-income working individuals to obtain reliable ransportation and become more
self-sufficient.
Last year, the Four Wheels For Work program allowed 50 Lee County residents to purchase an affordable and reliable used car.
Who is eligible?
Low-income working individuals who are currently employed and reside in Lee County are eligible for this program.
Requirements:
To be entered into this program, potential applicants will be required to complete an application and budget sheet which will be reviewed by a committee. If approved, the applicant must complete required classes in money management, safe driving, and vehicle maintenance.
These classes are offered free of charge.
Once a vehicle is available, it will be placed with an eligible recipient,
who is responsible for small monthly payments, as well as vehicle insurance.
The Four Wheels For Work program is located at the Goodwill Auto Sales
& Donation Center.
